When it comes to affiliate marketing there are various ways you can go about promoting products, the following is how I go about it and it has proved to be successful.

First of all I identify a product to promote, clickbank.com is my marketplace of choice, it has thousands of digital information products covering many different niches that you can promote.  What I like about clickbank is that it allows you to see beforehand which products are already selling well, this is important as you don’t want to go in blind, put all your effort into promoting a product only to find out it doesn’t sell.

I like to find products that cater for a desperate market where people are looking to solve a problem, the health and business catagories are usually good for these, next I filter the  search results by gravity. Gravity is an algorithm applied by clickbank to show which products affiliates are having success with promoting, the higher the better. I tend to go for products with at least a gravity of 50 as this shows the product does sell and is worth promoting.

Once I’ve identified 3-5 products that meet the above criteria I then go onto create a website, my site of choice is the review site. There are others like the pre-sell site where you tell a story about your success with the product to convert the reader into buying, I do have some of these and they do work but I’ve had more success with the review site method.

When I first started I would create the review sites from scratch, this took quite a while what with having to do HTML and writing reviews and articles. However, always being one on the lookout for a short cut  I’ve since found a great service that supplies me with 2 review sites covering 2 popular niches every month, check them out here:

Using the above service  I can now have a site up almost instantly, all I do is change the content a bit to make it unique then upload the site and start generating traffic…

And welcome to my blog & first post!

From here on in I will be frequently writing about my business and hobby – Making money online!

But first a bit about myself and my journey so far…

A few years back at the age of 24 I decided that I’d had enough of the rat race in the UK and decided to get the 1st flight I could to Thailand where I’d had an amazing time just 3 months before. A risky move considering I had no connections there for work, just a plan to make a living online and live the internet lifestyle, even more risky considering I knew nothing about computers! And with that I left…

From then on though through detemination, hard work and a bit of luck my carrer online started to come together. The first thing I tried was eBay as I’d been a buyer in the past and knew a bit about how it worked. I went out to the local markets and bought products that I like and thought would sell, through trial and error I found some that did! I’ll never forget the feeling when my first paypal payment notification came through, for the first my dream to make money online was starting to materialise, this stuff actually works!

To cut a long story short, I went on to find more products, good suppliers and become an eBay powerseller. By now I’d really caught the “make money online” bug and set about learning all the different ways of doing it…

This brings us up to date as now at the age of 27 I’m still selling on eBay but also have my own eCommerce websites that are doing well. I’m now dedicating the majority of my time to learning affiliate marketing though, I’ve had a bit of success with it but still have a long way to go before I reach my goal of becoming a super affiliate!

This along with domaining (the buying, selling, developing and monetizing Internet domain names) SEO (Search engine optimization) are my main interests and what I will be mostly writing about on this blog.
